Insignis reaches milestone in helping schools manage cash reserves

Insignis, a leading UK cash savings platform for education, has passed a milestone of 500 schools using its service to manage their cash holdings. The schools, trusts and charities on the platform earned over £51 million in interest in 2025 alone.
The growth follows the Department for Education’s encouragement earlier this year for schools to review their banking arrangements and maximise returns on cash holdings. Insignis is the only savings platform approved by the Department for Education for use across the education sector, having responded to a DfE Request for Information.
The Insignis platform gives schools access to more than 35 UK-regulated banks and building societies. This offers a broader range of savings options and greater visibility across cash holdings, while reducing the need to manage multiple banking relationships.
School budgets are under increasing strain. Savings platforms can help schools and academy trusts make better use of the £6 billion held in reserves during 2023 to 2024, turning static cash into a dynamic, strategically managed asset.

Kate Toumazi, CEO, Insignis, commented: “Reaching 500 schools is just the start of our commitment to serving the sector and helping them increase returns on their cash. Together, we’re generating millions that can be reinvested in scholarship programmes, teaching assistants, equipment, and more.”
