EdShed, creators of Phonics Shed, Spelling Shed and MathShed, has launched a preview of its new teacher hub, which is designed to streamline classroom practice and give educators clearer, more actionable insight into pupil progress.
The redesign begins with Spelling Shed, which now provides a cleaner, more intuitive interface to help teachers access what they need with fewer clicks. Assignments, leagues, challenges and Hive games are now visible at a glance, while simplified navigation, clearer scheme pages and more accessible resources support faster planning and greater consistency across year groups.
A major development is the new data experience. Teachers can now monitor attainment and progress through four dedicated views (Overview, Competency Tracker, History and Mastery Zone), each offering a different perspective on pupil understanding. A colour-coded system highlights strengths and gaps instantly, while interactive charts and downloadable tables allow staff to drill down into specific needs and tailor support more effectively.

By simplifying data and making it more meaningful, we’re helping teachers quickly identify where pupils need support, allowing them to spend more time on high-impact teaching.”
The update has been shaped by early input from Spelling Shed Showcase Schools and Feedback Schools, ensuring the new design reflects real classroom priorities. The Spelling Shed preview is the first step in a phased rollout that will extend the new interface to QuizShed, MathShed, Literacy Shed and Phonics Shed, including future updates to teaching tools, admin functions and subscription management.
